2026 Wrest Point Sandy Bay Regatta Program

​

The Sandy Bay Regatta is one of the longest running regattas in the world. Now in its 178th year, like many regattas, it came from working seafarers testing their skills against their mates. So, sports like sailing and rowing became the main drawcards for the public.

​

It will be a great day from 8am until 4pm.

 

We have our popular exhibition races and 'come and try' water activities for patrons to enjoy. Plus, there will be roving entertainers, face painters and music throughout the day.

​

The City of Hobart Citizenship Ceremony will go ahead at 10.30am, and we look forward to celebrating the commitment of so many new Australians.​​​​​

On The Water

10:30am - 1pm  Outrigger Rowing Come and Try

10 – 12noon  Sailability races

10 – 1pm  Australian Sailing (Tas) Discover Sailing … (bring your bathers) RYCT & SBSC

12 – 1pm  Tassal Ocean Swim races

1.30 – 2:30pm  International Cadet races

The Tasmanian Devil's FC Mascot Rum'un will be there on the day for a meet & greet!

Other Information

  • Great food throughout the day, bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the atmosphere.

  • Bar and wet area starting from midday on the lawns. 

  • This is a non-smoking event

  • Parking available, with gold coin donation to Variety Tasmania

  • ​Visit the Sandy Bay Regatta information tent to register for Junior Miss Regatta Girls and Best Dressed Aussie.

  • Buy your raffle tickets at the information tent! Raffle drawn at 4pm.
